CHUCKY!!! WHY???

Put Nakamura in the World Blitz Championship! Ahead Of Carlsen, Ivanchuk, Radjabov & many very strong others! Congrats champ!

Yeah Nakamura needs to be in the blitz championship, no doubt.

Nakamura just made a big statement. His second major Blitz/Rapid tournament win this year proves that he is one of the best Rapid/Blitz player in the world.

It is harder now for the organizers to ignore him and keep inviting the Usual Suspects to the World Blitz Championship.

he is the best bullet and blitz player in the world!

Congratulations to Hikaru Nakamura! Some day he will win Linares or Corus I believe...

Only if they will be played with blitz time controls.

in tournament time controls he can win a Corus B group at most.

Nakamura is excellent at blitz and rapid but the facts are the facts -- his FIDE rating is still in the 2600s and he's 21 years old.

If he really wants to make a statement he'll climb to the 2700s.

Hey anonymous, check out Nakamura's current FIDE rating (hint: it's above 2700).

Name: Hikaru Nakamura
Title: Grandmaster
Fide Rating : 2704

The myth that Anand is the best in the world in blitz is stupid. Ivanchuk & Grischuk won the World Blitz Championship while Anand was in it. Grischuk won in 2006, Ivanchuk won in both 2007 & 2008...beating Anand in a final game. I am thoroughly convinced that Nakamura is the best human blitz player in the world. I also believe that he is the best human 1-minute player in history. I am almost sure that Ivanchuk will win the Blitz Championship that coming up in a few days...after just losing to Nakamura in the Cap d'Agde rapids...how sad & ironic it is that Hikaru Nakamura won't be there. Fide sucks.

I meant that Grischuk won the World Blitz Championship in 2005 and Ivanchuk won the World Blitz Championship in 2006 & 2007.

Aw, come on!

I think DzinDzichashvilli at his prime would have given Nakamura a good one minute workout. Of course there was another guy that none of you ever heard of who may have been the best ever one minute man. Jacob Yuchtman...would have loved to see those two go at it.

Fischer was quick enough at 5 minute blitz to be a few minutes ahead on the clock vs. other GMs. he prob had a chance against Naka. How about Tal?

He is still a self centered Jerk.

He should make ugly babies with Nigel Short.

"He should make ugly babies with Nigel Short."

Ufff...that's sick!!

"The myth that Anand is the best in the world in blitz is stupid."

Nobody ever said that.

Anand is best in rapid, not blitz. He won may Rapid World Championship, not blitz championships.

I hope you know the difference between these two types of chess.

Anonymous,

Nobody ever said Anand is the best blitz player in the world?

Anand is the best blitz player in the World.

There I said it. But I think Naka can give him a run for his money.

Anand probably was the best Blitz and certainly the best rapid player in the world. Chess prowess(especially fast chess) doesn't just exist as a static skill feature. If it did Karpov would have likely won this tournament. Anand is now 39 and in no way is he as fast as he was ten or even 5 years ago. Though he may still be number one in rapids and blitz it won't last forever.

Sometimes it makes me angry to read how you write about the players, esp. comparing them - Nakamura is better, Chucky is better, Anand is weaker, older, slower...

I saw them all playing rapid in Mainz and must say: Respect and more respect for everyone of them and many others! They are all chess heros compared with us.

Don't forget to enjoy it, folks!

okay
