SOS! Chess Champ Galina Shliahtich needs your help!






Summary by GM Golubev:

Several times, Galina Shliahtich was the IPCA Women World Chess Champion.
She also was Ukrainian Women's Champion in 1998.
She was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis since 1993.
She was diagnosed with Tuberculosis since 2006.
Her condition is steadily worsened lately and her life is in a big danger.
Shliahtich lives in a small town of Kalush in Ivano-Frankovskaya region (Oblastj) in Western Ukraine. (Unlike Lviv, Ivano-Frankovsk region is not known for the huge chess traditions, etc).
She has a 14 years old son and an old father.

I'll contribute $50 if Susan can set up a collecting system with paypal or something. She collects and redirect the money in the end.

I am sure all the users of her blog can gather a serious amount in the end.
