Cornell University has a new GM coach

Ivy League Cornell University has hired a new coach for their chess team. It is no other than former US and World Open Champion GM Alex Yermolinsky!

This is an excellent move by Cornell and it is great for College Chess! Congratulations!

"College chess pioneers at UT-D (Tim Redman) and U. Maryland Baltimore County (Alan Sherman) made scholarships for chess players a reality. But Susan Polgar made college chess into an industry. In my opinion, Susan isn't given enough credit for what she has accomplished... I am excited to now be part of that industry." - stated by GM Alex Yermolinsky, new ad hoc chess coach at Cornell University, in a meeting with Frank Niro, Cornell faculty member and team advisor.
