With white pawn b2 and black pawn a4,

Ponziani, Domenico Lorenzo
Il Giuoco Incomparabile degli Scacchi, 1769, #5

This version is probably composed in 1782 by Ponziani himself...

...and has a dual at move 3!

Nevertheless, an interesting forerunner to pawn mates with king in a border.

See this fantastic study by the Katsnelson brothers:

Katsnelson & Katsnelson, Kralin 55 jubilee tournament, 2000

White: Kc4,Pa2,a5,b2,f2,h3
Black: Kd7,Pa6,b7,g5,h4

Fen: 8/1p1k4/p7/P5p1/2K4p/7P/PP3P2/8 w - - 0 1

White wins
