Webster U sophomore GM Meier to participate in Dortmund 2013

The organizers of the Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting have already announced the dates, participants and pairings of the 2013 edition.

The elite tournament will be held from July 26th to August 4th as a single round robin with 10 participants. The drawing of lots has already been done, so the pairings are known well in advance.

The best rated players from China and England, Wang Hao and Michael Adams, will also show up this year. Russian champion Dmitry Andreikin is the sixth international participant.

Together with these six strong foreign players, four members from the German national team will complete the line-up: Arkadij Naiditsch, Daniel Fridman, Georg Meier and Igor Khenkin.

Why UTD and UMBC players not invited? Is it because they didn't win the final four?
