Wesley So: This situation is taking a big toll on me

I just received the following from Wesley So in Las Vegas:

"I withdrew from the National Open to focus on finalizing the federation transfer process. This situation is taking a big toll on me. I hope to finish everything shortly. Then it is up to the NCFP to sign off on it or not."

In the past week, the story about Wesley making the decision to officially transfer to the US became major news in the Philippines. He was bombarded with questions and interview requests. He is overwhelmed with once a "friendly and personal request" to now a media frenzy.

There is not much more he can say or do other than to wait for the decision by the NCFP. Since Wesley's numerous "unofficial" requests (since November 2013) fell on deaf ears, he is now working directly with the US federation to file the official paperwork for FIDE / NCFP. Then the ball will solely be on the NCFP's court.

He is making the right decision to take a short time out. He needs to clear his head, then refocus on his chess. This is too much of a distraction.

Good decision by Wesley So. Its never good to play when your mind is preoccupied with something else as he may get disappointing results in the National Open. That would leave him with just 1 tourney this month the Edmonton International or is he withrawing on that as well? Tell Wesley NOT to pay too
much attention as to whether Pichay will consent to transfer or not. Though it is a fact that he will NEVER CONSENT and RELEASE GM Wesley So as he implied in his June 12, 2014 interview in Philippine Star (www.philstar.com) As we cant do anything about it but just hope Pichay will die on a plane crash or some assassinate (a waste of plan and bullet) as only a new NCFP President may grant So request. As long as the PROVEN CORRUPT Politician with CRAB MENTALITY attitude who
jusr uses the NCFP FUNDS as his own personal wallet, NOTHING will happen good on Philippine Chess. As they say, ma karma ka na sana Pichay kasama pamilya mo para sama sama kayo sa impyerno ni Gloria.

Statement of NCFP President Pichay on his interview with news daily Philippine Star dated June 13, 2014 by Joey Villar: "He (Wesley So) is stil part of the federation (NCFP) because we haven't received any official letter or document saying otherwise."

Statement of NCFP President Pichay on his interview with news daily Philippine Star (www.philstar.com) dated June 13, 2014: "Pichay said that only way for him to respond to So's request to transfer federation is if he receives an official letter from FIDE officially stating the latters intent NOT thru blog."

Statement of NCFP President Prospero Pichay on his interview with news daily Philippine Star dated June 13, 2014: "Pichay also stressed that SHOULD HE RECEIVED THE OFFICIAL LETTER, IT WILL BE HARD TO LET SO WALK AWAY OUT OF THE NCFP EASY." - This only proves that the National Chess Federation of the Philippines President Prospero Pichay will NEVER GIVE CONSENT TO TRANSFER FEDERATION to GM Wesley So no matter what he does. NCFP President Pichay along with the ENTIRE NCFP BOARD OF DIRECTORS and OFFICIALS ut is out to DESTROY the chess career of GM Wesley So with INTENT. They will PUNISHED SO for the transfer and will use every trick on the book to BLOCK the transfer and later FREEZE and DESTROY his career thru inactivity as what an insider privy to the NCFP revealed. According to an NFCP insider symphatetic to So, NCFP President Pichay is consulting with his legal team to orchestrate any possible ways to block the transfer. Part of the plan also was to destroy Wesley So's career and use it as an example to discourage and instill fear on the remaining who intend to transfer federation like GM's Oliver Barbosa, Mark Paragua and perhaps Catalino Saddora.

If it is Nakamura, he will stll play on and win first prize at the National Open. Clearly, Nakamura is the best with or without distractions.

FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT Current NCFP President Prospero Pichay: (1) Prospero Pichay spent close to Php 400 million ($ 20 million) for a Philippine Senate bid but lost badly. A former congressman prior to running a seat in Philippine Senate with a Php 50,000 + ($1,200+) monthly salary ONLY; (2) Prospero Pichay was a former Local Water & Utilities Admistration (LWUA) Chairman, a government agency, who was DISMISS FROM POST & GOVERNMENT SERVICE after the Office of the Ombudsman FOUND HIM LIABLE FOR GRAVE MISCONDUCT in a related Php 400 million ($20 million) Express Savings Bank Anomaly; (3) Prospero Pichay has also been CRIMINALLY & ADMINISTRATIVELY CHARGED by the Office of the Ombudsman stemming from a Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Php 800 million ($ 20 million) ANOMALOUS TRANSACTION regarding LWUA's acquisition & capital infusion in the now defunct private bank Express Savings Bank (ESBI) in 2009 and for SERVING AS DIRECTOR of ESBI though HE WAS BARRED BY LAW to sit as member of the Board of Directors in private banks/companies; (4) The current LWUA Chairman ACCUSED & CHARGED Prospero Pichay and other former officials for MISUSE of Php 2.3 Billion ($ 100 million) LOCAL WATER & UTILITIES ADMINISTRATION (LWUA) FUNDS... - For the Chess World to know why Phillipine Chess players apparent lack of support from the NCFP President Prospero Pichay during his (un)leadership. His prior background speaks a lot about who he is.

I'm a U.S.-based Filipino software developer/entrepreneur who's keenly interested in GM Wesley So's progression into and dream of becoming a great chess player.

I'll keep track of the developments on Wesley's request to the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) to allow him to switch to the U.S. Chess Federation.

If the NCFP denies Wesley's request, which means that he either must pay NCFP the 50,000 euros, OR wait for the required 2-year waiting period to lapse before he can participate in FIDE-sponsored events (which will slow down his chess career and growth as a chess player), I'm thinking of having a FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN for GM Wesley So in one of the crowd-funding websites.

We cannot allow Butch Pichay Jr and the NCFP to stunt Wesley So's growth and slow down his pursuit of his dream to become a great chessplayer.

If the fund-raising campaign for Wesley becomes necessary, I hope Wesley's fans here in Susan Polgar's blog, and his fans all over the world, will unite and contribute their share, big or small, to help GM Wesley So, continue to pursue his dreams unabated and uninterrupted.

FUND-RAISING DRIVE to raise € 50,000 euros as " RANSOM MONEY disguise as transfer fee" for the "RELEASED OF KIDNAPPED/CAPTURED Wesley So". The € 50,000 euros will be used to PAY the National Chess Federation of the President Prospero Pichay and his band of NCFP subordinates. TO SHOW SYMPATHY to Wesley So's flight with the continued REFUSAL by NCFP President Pichay to sign the consent for transfer & release him so he can transfer to the US Chess Federation ASAP, I URGED ALL Chess Federation worldwide including FIDE to BOYCOTT & SANCTION the National Chess Federation of the Philippines until they will release Wesley So. For individual chess fan, especially US citizens PLEASE WE NEED YOUR HELP, any amount to raise the € 50,000 euros will do or please lobby to the US Government to BLOCK ANY FOREIGN/ MILITARY AID in the Philippines until they will release Wesley So from their custody.

Coach Susan, any news and update as to the condition of Wesley So? You said he withdraw from the National Open which is a wise decision but will he withdraw also from Edmonton International? We are Wesley So fans here in Canada and we would like to know with certainty if he will still play in Edmonton International in light of his current problem & if he will, will his pending problem with NCFP affect his mental conditioning and performance in the tournament should he decide to play? If his mental conditioning is still not good as he is still in quandry it would be better if he will not play at all in Edmonton International for his own good and benefit. We are anxious to see him in Canada but at the same time nervous and worried that he
might just play subpar, underlerform which will not only affect his confidence if he lose badly in Edmontol because of trouble mind but also has major impact in his psychological wellbeing. Any updates if his ok will do just to reassure his loyal fans. Thankd and God Bless from Canada

Pichay and his a** director should vacate their positions. Their actions and behavior are both a disgrace in the Philippine scene. How can the Philippine government, leadership, and the NCFP Board of Directors allow Pichay to continue in such capacities when he has already been 1. dismissed by the Office of Ombudsman; 2. disbarred from occupying any BOD positions in any private companies; 3. found liable for anomalous transactions; 4. grave misconduct in a savings bank financial deal with LWUA.

All NCFP and the Philippines has to do right now is remove Pichay and provide all the best financial support for Wesley So's quest of becoming a chess world champion challenger. Give Wesley the best 3-5 year financial grant package or commitment for his studies and quest to become a world challenger.

If NCFP and the Philippine govt. cannot provide such financial support for the athlete like Wesley, let him go and do not be a hindrance to a person's quest for success. All of Pichay's, NCFP, POC's excuses are just nuances and non-sense.

I repeat offer Wesley a financial grant he can't refuse ASAP, you'll get him back because after all he is still a Filipino.

I FULLY SUPPORT Wesley So, regardless thre country he will represent. At heart he will ALWAYS be a FILIPINO. If changing to US Federation is for the betterment of his career, then so be it. People who criticize his decision and calling him unpatriotic are just HYPOCRITES and are only JEALOUS. If you want to be patriotic/nationalistic, go volunteer yourself to guard the Philippines or have your self shot at Luneta Park like Jose Rizal did. All you wesley so haters do is criticize but all of you NEVER do your share as a Filipino. If you are ordinary citizen most of you dont have jobs or if your government officials you are corrupt/thieves. If calling Wesley So unpatriotic because he will be playing under US Flag, you can start calling all your relatives working overseas especially those in US who are now citizens as unpatriotic so that they can stop sending money support to you back in the Philippines that will ultimately not only cause your death but also of the Philippines. STOP being HYPOCRITES and having CRAB MENTALITY. If nothing is happening in your life, its your problem and fault NOT your government or Wesley So and DONT USE the PATRIOTIC arguments as an EXCUSE to your miserable life in the Philippines. LOSER!

Based on the TV-4 Good Morning Boss sport balita .. It's not NCFP holds the transfer of GM Weley So ... as far as I understand.

Try to analyze the comment of NCFP member GM Torre ... he agreed on the transfer or change of federation and he is one of the founder of NCFP. To this I guess we hear the side of the NCFP.

How about the POC President says that "Pagtraydor sa bayan" with this comment it's not the NCFP who has the last say on this issue. Remember the POC (Philippines Olympic Committee) is the one allocating the budget of its member and NCFP is one of its member.

Through this, it is not only the NCFP involve but also the association within the Olympic committee.

We want to see him (Wesley So) climbing up his ranking and compete in the word title cycle but there is always a hindrance that need to overcame hoping he will get the support of NCFP and nod of POC officials ... Good luck hope you will succeed on this other side of board battle. Wish you all the best!!!
